The outer movements of the Symphony No. 23 von 1773,  in Salzburg geschrieben, dienen Amadé vor allem der Demonstration verschiedener Klangeffekte wie Tonleiter, dynamischer Kontrast, Synkope und Fanfarenstöße. Der Mittelsatz wieder ganz Mozart, dessen Melodien wie immer verzaubern, es erklingt ein kantables sizilianoartiges Oboensolo.
Hören wir nicht Göttin Athene im Himmel frohlocken, dass sich alles zum Besten wenden wird?
