How Telemachus or Antinous Mozart is still looking. The Sinfonie Es-Dur ist anfangs als Ouvertüre zu einem Bühnenwerk konzipiert - die Besetzung mit einem Flöten- und Oboenpaar sieht Amadé immer nur für Theatermusiken vor.

Viele musikalische Ideen dieser 1773 entstandenen Sinfonie Nr. 26  verwendet Mozart in späteren Es-Dur-Werken erneut, wie etwa im Hornkonzert KV 495.
